Prior to founding Lear Investment Management he was a Partner and Portfolio Manager with a Dallas based investment firm. From 2009 to 2015, Mr. Lear managed portfolios in a global, tactical, asset allocation strategy. His ability to identify global trends and tactically express with investments has led to superior outcomes for investors. His creative and intelligent research spans both fundamental and quantitative disciplines.
Previously, Mr. Lear served as Vice President at Neuberger Berman and as a Senior Investment Planning Analyst with Sanford C. Bernstein & Co. While at Bernstein, Mr. Lear was tapped to participate in the firm's Wealth Management Group to help solve complex investment dilemmas for high net worth families across the nation. He also served as a Portfolio Manager for US Trust on a team responsible for a multi-billion dollar quantitative, equity investment strategy. Mr. Lear now resides in Dallas, his hometown, with his wife, Laura, and their four children. He is a graduate of Southern Methodist University and the Securities Industry Institute of The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Lear serves on the board of trustees of Lamplighter School, the board of trustees of Vogel Alcove and the board of trustees of Positive Coaching Alliance. Always a student, Mr. Lear recently completed a program with the Harvard Business School Executive Education in India.
Mr. Lummus began his career as a Financial Advisor in 2007. While working at one of the nation’s largest investment firms for nearly a decade, Cody was a student of the capital markets and investment industry.
It was during this time Mr. Lummus noticed a shift in the investment management landscape. Innovation was fleeting and the “old” way of doing things was simply not keeping up. To deliver the service and performance his clients deserved, Mr. Lummus chose to join the independent investment firm Lear Investment Management.
As Director of Portfolio Strategies, Mr. Lummus works each day to bring innovative and thoughtful strategies to our wealth management clients. Mr. Lummus takes great pride in helping families achieve their financial goals and leave a legacy for future generations.

Mr. Smith brings ten years of experience in the investment management industry with a background in providing investment solutions for Ultra-High Net Worth, Endowments & Foundations, and Family Offices. His expertise has been synthesizing complex data and developing quantitative models that deliver customized investment solutions. His development of quantitative models focuses on multi-asset macro investment strategy, risk based portfolio analytics, and goals based portfolio construction methods. Most recently, Mr. Smith served as an Investment Analyst for Bank of Texas, subsidiary of BOKF, where he was tasked in providing custom investment and trading insights to the firms prospective and current clientele. Prior to his role at BOKF, he served as a Senior Associate for The Northern Trust Company. Andrew holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance from Southern Methodist University and is currently pursuing his CFA Charter.
For nearly a decade, Mr. Nelson has worked in the investment industry – holding positions with world-class investment managers. While a Regional Director for Highland Capital, Mr. Nelson gained valuable experience consulting with Financial Advisors across the country. The knowledge gained during this time led him to understand that the traditional money management platform was not optimal.
With this industry knowledge, Mr. Nelson set out to find a platform that he believed would give his clients the best opportunity to achieve their goals. In 2018 Mr. Nelson joined Lear Investment Management. As an Investment Advisor with LIM, Mr. Nelson has an innovative wealth management platform he believes will give his clients the best opportunity to achieve their financial goals and make a positive impact on their community.
